Date Paste

Equal parts Dates and hot Water.

1 Cup Date, pitted

1 Cup Hot Water


Combine in a bowl and let sit for 1 hour or overnight.  Then blend all in blender or bullet or cusiniart until smooth.  The puree can be frozen. 

The first time I made date paste I had to leave for an extended period of time so I stuck the date paste in a storage container and stuck it in the freezer.   Three weeks or so later I took it out expecting a solid block of paste.  When I placed a spoon in it scooped out.  Not frozen solid at all. So I went made more paste and used a different freezer and the same thing happened.  So I scooped out 2 Tablespoons and made chocolate pudding.
